CARAVAN TIME!

You wake up tired, no energy, feeling flat. You need to work to pay the bills and put food on the table. It is time to move on ...... towards your next goal. The home that is self-efficient! The home on wheels! When you are choosing which van to purchase, you need to be aware of your travel plans. Are you going for a holiday? an extended adventure? Converting to van life?

Our goals are towards freedom, peace, and the flexibility to live our life, on our own terms. We want to make our dreams a reality. To suit our plans, we require a caravan that can go where we want; semi-off road but nothing too big. To convert to van life, we need to sacrifice and downsize, to live minimalistic. 

We are wanting to travel our great country Australia. The roads can be rough, tight, and muddy. We need a van to accommodate to these conditions. During boggy conditions, with our vehicle we will not be able to tow anything larger than 14ft. Same applies when windy, and driving through tight spots, we do not want to be driving on the edge of a knife. So, the smaller the van, the better, for us.

We need to think of breakables inside the van. Again, minimalist is the way to go! Being small, we want a lot of light, so will be looking for a van with as many windows as possible, to allow for this. This will also help with us feeling 'caged in.'  We will also be looking at small roof side annexes, to free up some space.

Driving long distances, making your bed each night may prove tiring. For us, we want to be able to stop and get into a bed, already made. Another key factor to consider is storage.

If we are to go off-grid for some time, we will need a power supply and charging capabilities. We want to find a van that meets our requirements. For this is to become our home on wheels, our secret world of comfort. For us, purchasing a van that 'looks pretty' with all the 'mod-cons' is not our top priority. We do not want this to stop us from experiencing what we are planning to experience.

So safe travels to all. Do not be afraid to step out of the 'normal' way of living. Be that special person that you are. Choose freedom!
